Royalty and Ragtime Picnic - 2016

Summer Event

The 2016 Robertsbridge Summer Event is planned for Sunday 19th June starting at 12:30pm on the Robertsbridge Recreation Ground.

This year is the 90th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II who was born in 1926 and we are combining Royalty with the essence of the 1920s Ragtime scene. We have a fantastic live band playing during the afternoon.

After the great success of last years event, planning is well underway for an even more fun packed afternoon this year. Look out for the publicity and join us for some mid-summer sunshine. A variety of activities are being organised for all ages and it will provide some time to relax and meet old and new friends from the village.

There will be games for the more enthusiastic, musical comedy drama, a drinks bar, Bar-B-Q, ice creams, competitions and a bumper search for the crown jewels. It will be a great fun afternoon for the village to enjoy a picnic and entertainment together in the warm sunshine. It is a chance for the whole village to chill out and have a great time.

The Robertsbridge Summer Events are not designed as fundraisers or a fete but they provide a great opportunity for the whole Robertsbridge community to join together and have some FREE fun together. Put it in your diaries and we look forward to seeing you on 19th June....

Village Picnic

We are particularly pleased to welcome to this years Summer Event Applause - Rural Touring Theatre with The Honk Project - The Dancing Day Trippers -

Two eccentric vintage moped enthusiasts; a shining moped with a state-of-the-art sidecar; lots of instruments; and a whole load of swing and jive are the main ingredients of The Honk Projects latest delightful walkabout show!

Doris and Albert will wow outdoor audiences with their fifties garb, their incredible hair styles, and their aptitude for loud hoots and manic laughter. And its when they park up the moped, get their horns out and start to jive that the spotted pink teapot of excitement really starts to brew!!

This show combines live music, buffoonery and dance in Honks own unique style of physical comedy. Its a must see for all the family, from little ones up to grandparents.

Village Picnic

Music for the day will be provided by the wonderful Sussex Stompers -

We plan to build on the success of the Robertsbridge Summer Events and offer a different experience each summer. In between the bigger events, we will continue to put on family fun days suitable for children of all ages.
